Understanding tide information

About our tide predictions

Tide times displayed on UK Tide Times are predicted tide information. A predicted high tide represents the expected time when the sea reaches its highest predicted level at a particular location, while a predicted low tide represents the expected lowest level.

Actual sea levels can be affected by local conditions and weather, including wind and atmospheric pressure. For this reason, predicted tide times should be treated as useful guidance rather than a guarantee of exactly when the sea will reach a particular level.

If you are planning an activity where coastal safety is important, always consider official marine forecasts, local warnings and other relevant safety information as well as tide predictions.
