What makes a good sea fishing beach?
The best fishing beaches aren't necessarily the ones that look the most impressive. A beach can be beautiful but offer very little in terms of fishing, while another seemingly ordinary stretch of coastline can produce some excellent catches.
Things such as depth, tidal movement, underwater features, sandbanks, rocks and nearby estuaries can all make a difference. The time of year and state of the tide can also have a huge effect on what you are likely to catch.
Some beaches are particularly well known for species such as bass, while others can produce flatfish, rays, smooth-hounds, codling and other species depending on the conditions and season.
